2005 / One of the hazards of being a member of the “second-generation” is the tendency to absorb, as if through the skin, the emotions 
and fears—even if unexpressed—of the survivor. In my case, the world never felt like a safe place, and all through my life I have had dreams about catastrophic tornadoes.
